EMII Breakfast Briefing: Using Digital Twins to Enhance Risk and Emergency Management – 7th February 2025 – 08.30am – DCU Business School.
We are excited to announce that our next EMII Breakfast Briefing will be held on Friday 7th February, at DCU Business School. Starting at 08:30 am, the briefing will provide an opportunity to explore the use of Digital Twins to enhance risk and emergency management.
Digital twins are typically defined as virtual replicas of physical assets, sites or environments, functioning as comprehensive repositories of data and information. By incorporating dynamic components, digital twins integrate real-time data collected from sensors, smart meters, and other measurement devices, creating an up-to-date and interactive representation of the physical counterpart.
The briefing will be delivered by a team from DCU (Insight and the Business School) and Dublin Fire Brigade. The project team came together to investigate how the use of digital twin technology can help to enhance emergency management. The briefing will include a demonstration of the digital twins used by Dublin Fire Brigade and Dublin City University and will also include an opportunity to discuss the additional benefits that could be derived from such cutting-edge technology.
