EMII Field Trip – Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Flagship Training Facility Visit – 18th October  2024 @ 10am.

We are delighted to inform you that the EMII have been invited to make a visit to the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service’s training centre which is in the final stage of construction. When complete, the facility will be a state-of-the-art learning and development training college. There has been a considerable research element to their facility design, looking across numerous UK Emergency service partners to identify what they have delivered well & more critically what they would have done differently to best deliver realism for blue light responders. The NIFRS believe that all these important lessons learnt have been captured in the construction project & would relish the opportunity to share them with EMII and Emergency service members from across the island of Ireland.

The NIFRS have extended an invite to thirty (30) of our members to visit the site on 18th October  2024. The facility is located near Cookstown in County Tyrone. The proposed itinerary is as follows:

• 10am > arrival & tea/coffee
• 10:30am > Slideshow presentation on progress/assets/historical journey
• 11.45 > Site walk & training facility focus
• 13:30pm > Lunch @ main support building
• 14:30pm > Informal classroom discussion on various training prop capabilities & scope for 3rd party usage
• 3:30pm > Close the event

Booking for this event is now open. Members wishing to attend are also asked to indicate whether they would have an interest in availing of a bus (departing from DCU at 7.30am). If there is sufficient interest, the EMII may provide a bus to members. Alternatively, members may wish to drive or carpool. The event will be capped at thirty (30) members so we would encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment.
