EMII Breakfast Briefing: BCM Theory & Practice – Critical Success Factors for Real-World Delivery
16th January – 08:30 am, DCU Business School
Light breakfast & Networking from 8:00 am
Dear EMII Members,
We invite you to attend our next EMII Breakfast Briefing on Friday, 16th January, hosted at DCU Business School. This session will focus on Business Continuity Management (BCM) from both theoretical and operational perspectives, examining what drives effective BCM and how it is delivered within a complex healthcare environment.
The briefing will be delivered by Dr Monica Kelly (DCU), Mike Lees CSyP, and Lisa Corbridge, drawing on their experience at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The session will explore the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) underpinning robust BCM for all entities, and how these translate into practical implementation in a large healthcare organisation.
The session will highlight:
- Core Critical Success Factors for effective, resilient BCM programmes
- How BCM is delivered in practice within a healthcare trust
- Insights from Barnsley Hospital’s continuity arrangements, challenges and solutions
- How theoretical CSFs align with and emerge from real-world practice
This briefing will be of particular interest to business continuity practitioners, risk and resilience professionals, emergency managers, and those responsible for safeguarding operational continuity across essential services.
