EMII Field Trip – Irish Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre
We are delighted to invite you to our first EMII event of the Autumn, a Field Trip to the Irish Coast Guard’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) located at their headquarters, the Department of Transport, Leeson Lane, Dublin 2.
This event will take place on Friday September 12, 2025.
The Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) is a Principal Emergency Service whose mission is to deliver a world class Search and Rescue (SAR), maritime casualty and pollution response service. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre provides 24/7 monitoring of emergency communications systems and maritime traffic channels. The MRCC coordinates maritime search and rescue, maritime casualty and pollution responses in Irish waters. The IRCG also provides support on request to the Principal Response Agencies.
This visit will provide a valuable opportunity for members to be briefed by a team from the Department of Transport and IRCG, observe at first hand the MRCC’s operations and gain insights into the coordination of maritime search and rescue and pollution response activities and the wider role of this critical national service.
This event will start at 8am with tea/coffee and pastries, with formal proceedings commencing at 8.30am and a finish time of 10am.
On street parking is available in the vicinity.
Attendance at this event is free for EMII Members, but advance booking is essential. Booking is open now and will close at noon on Wednesday September 10.
